BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The Business Development Manager is primarily focused on sponsorship and exhibit sales for ExL conference events. As a key member of the team, you will work hand-in-hand with conference producers and marketing managers to identify opportunities to maximize the sales potential for each event. You will qualify and close new as well as existing clients. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, and be driven to make a contribution toward successful events.

Candidates should have a minimum of 1-2 years work experience, preferably within sales. Prior conference or event sponsorship sales experience is a plus, but not required. Candidates must be proficient with MS Office and be able to travel.

CONFERENCE COORDINATOR

The conference coordinator liases with speakers in the preparation for an event making sure those materials are submitted on time and that all speaker requirements are met at the events. Coordinators also assist with speaker travel and accommodation requirements, as well as coordinate internally with colleagues. The ideal candidate will be highly efficient, enjoy communicating over the telephone and be good at working with deadlines. Coordinators manage multiple conferences each month, so the ability to multi-task is critical. The role can be used as a training ground for conference production.

Qualities & Skills Required:

• Confident and accurate manner when dealing with telephone and e-mail contacts
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and to deal with customers, speakers and hotel venues when on-site
• Work well under pressure and with speed
• Ensure prompt, accurate and sensitive handling of all information
• Ability to meet deadlines with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work autonomously - responsible for handling own workloads and self-motivated

MARKETING MANAGER

The Marketing Manager executes marketing campaigns for ongoing conference programs. Responsibilities include working with media partners to optimize opportunities for promotion, researching and determining applicability of target lists, creating marketing plans that reinforce messaging and working with production teams to refine and distribute marketing pieces. In addition to forging media partnerships, Marketing also develop strategic partnerships with appropriate associations to promote events in various ways to their membership. Marketing oversees the brochure production process and helps ensure that the design and distribution is optimal for the target markets. Marketing also manages online campaigns that include placing banner ads, event listings and e-mail promotions to strategic partners that enhance campaigns.

The successful candidate will have a BS/BA degree and 1-2 years work experience, preferably in marketing or communications. Prior conference or event sponsorship marketing is a plus, but not required. Candidates must be proficient with MS Office and have strong communication skills. In addition, candidates must be able to multi-task efficiently, work well with vendors, and be deadline-oriented.

CONFERENCE PRODUCER

The Conference Producer is responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of value-added conference events covering a range of topic areas relevant to pharmaceutical and life science industries. This effort entails topic validation through market research, recruiting industry speakers, supporting business development in securing corporate sponsorships and contributing towards successful marketing and sales campaigns. Our portfolio of value-added events provide the pharmaceutical and life science industries with important information, various avenues to network and opportunities to meet with key suppliers.
