ExL Pharma SCAM

ExL Pharma Scam:

ExL Events, Inc. (i.e. ExL Pharma) has learned of emails in circulation and outreach from various parties that falsely claim sponsored payment by our company for apartments, rental fees, etc. to real estate brokers and/or agencies.  In some cases, the perpetrators have contacted the victims and falsely claimed to have been sponsored by ExL Events or ExL Pharma in order to obtain additional personal and financial information and in some cases have asked them to cash fraudulent checks and send them money. An example is listed below:

"I really appreciate your response and details provided, my sponsors (EXL PHARMA) have agreed on the monthly fees to be paid for the next two years on my behalf. Therefore, they agreed to pay up front the amount of
FIRST MONTH RENT PLUS DEPOSIT STARTING FROM MY MOVING IN DATE WHICH WILL BE ON THE 20TH of NOV); also since I will be staying for two years, the company has agreed to pay in a monthly installation. Furthermore, I would like you
to know a US Cashier cheque will be issued to you in an excess amount by my sponsors for the first month rent, security deposit and my travelling expenses. the excess amount will be sent to me immediately as soon as you
receive payment from my sponsors because is for my travelling allowance. However, the information below is required from you by my sponsors to have payment sent to you immediately in order for you to hold down this
property until I arrive;*

ExL Events, Inc. is in no way associated with these types of inquiries or false claims. The information in the emails is not real, we are not a sponsor, and our name is being used without permission. We are currently investigating the situation with the appropriate authorities.  Please recognize that this fraud, or scam, is being perpetrated against other companies besides ExL Events, Inc.
As such, please do not reply to these emails or letters with any information.
If you have already provided any personal information to any contacts associated with these types of emails or letters, we recommend that you immediately discontinue all communications with the source and contact your local and/or federal authorities for advice on how to proceed to protect your personal information, company information and privacy.
