Åsa Ander
Associate Director, Continuous Business Improvement

Åsa Ander is an experience Lean Sigma Master Black Belt who has worked on Improvement projects, Lean Sigma deployments and Business transformation programs across a range of industries but always with a strong focus on R&D.

Åsa was first introduced to Lean Sigma when she was responsible for Design for Environment in Bombardier Transportation in 2000. She got first hand experience in using the tools and techniques when developing the company’s integrated processes and when introducing the principles of design for environment across the company. When an opportunity came chose to move into a full time Black Belt role she jumped on it. She has since trained up to MBB with Bombardier and managed Operations Improvement teams in several sites and business areas. After leaving Bombardier Transportation Åsa has been part of developing the Change and Improvement management framework for SonyEricsson and also applied her skills contributing to the delivery of the corporate transformation program.

In 2009 Åsa joined AstraZeneca to lead the Continuous Improvement and Lean Sigma activities globally within research area CNS&Pain. In this role she works closely with senior management in identifying and supporting strategic improvement projects. Recently a lot of her time has been dedicated to driving cultural change to get the most out of ongoing organizational changes and critical process improvement initiatives.

Åsa holds a MSc in Civil Engineering from the Chalmers University of Technology. She is based at Astrazeneca’s Södertälje site in Sweden.
