Daniel Perry

ALLIANCE FOR AGING RESEARCH

As CEO of the not-for-profit Alliance for Aging Research, Daniel Perry directs the nation's leading citizen advocacy organization working to improve the health and independence of Americans as the age. Coming to the Alliance after working on Capitol Hill for more than 12 years, Dan has a diverse ,background in health policy, government, politics and journalism. He was special assistant to the Minority Whip of the U.S. Senate, served on the Federal Task Force on Aging Research during the Administration of the first President Bush and was named by President Bill Clinton to the Advisory Board of the White House Conference on Aging. He also served as a delegate to the White House Conferences on Aging in 1995 and 2005. Currently, he serves as chair of both the ACT-AD Coalition (Accelerate Cure/Treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease) and the Friends of the Institute on Aging, is an advisor to the Institute on Aging of the University of Pennsylvania Medical School and serves a member of the New York Academy of Sciences.

Also a journalist who was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, Dan is a frequent speaker on aging research and public policy topics before business, academic, and public sector audiences, and is widely published on these subjects. In addition, Dan is past president and currently vice president and director of the Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research (CAMR), which includes over 100 U.S. patient groups, medical organizations and research universities fighting to advance stem cell research and regenerative medicine.
