Dr. Liu is currently working at GlaxoSmithKline as Medical Lead/Principal Clinical Investigator in Clinical R&D. Previously, he worked at Wyeth and Forest Labs with increasing responsibilities. His past 12 years’ industry experiences include pharmaceutical, preclinical/clinical development of medical products with participating in dozens of drug development programs. He played key contribution to launch 7 currently marketed products. He authored a couple of FDA/EMEA-accepted BA/BE Biowaiver applications and acted as PI for 5 NIH/Industry sponsored research projects. The areas of his expertise include biopharmaceutic chemistry, IVIVC/IVIVE, clinically relevant dissolution & specifications, (Bio)pharmaceutical profiling, clinical ADME/PK/BE/BA study design, advanced PK/PD modeling & simulation, novel dosage forms development, and global CMC-Medical dossier/regulatory submission. Prior to coming to the industry, he completed his post-doctoral fellowships in Pharmaceutical Sciences/Biotechnology at School of Pharmacy Uni. of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Uni. of Louisville in Kentucky. He obtained a PhD in Biochemistry, a MS in computer sciences, and a BS in Chemistry. He also obtained a MBA (in Finance and Project Management) from SUNY-Stony Brook. He has more than 40 publications to the literature and delivered 20+ invited keynote speeches at national/international meetings and conferences. He is the adjunct professors at SUNY-Old Westbury and Tianjin University School of Pharmacy. He is the members of NYAS, AAPS, ISSX, ACS, SAPA, etc.
