Earl Whipple is a global communications and public relations professional who has led strategic communications efforts for Members of Congress, IBM, Merck and AstraZeneca.  Earl is currently the Senior Director of Business Communications and Digital Media for AstraZeneca.

In this position he is responsible for AstraZeneca’s corporate digital communications and social media strategies.  He is a member of the company’s global digital governance group creating company-wide social media strategies and policies.

Prior to joining the corporate world, Earl was a management consultant for IBM and prior to that a Chief of Staff and Legislative Director in the United States Congress.  He has expertise in corporate reputation and branding, crisis and issues management, public policy, and government affairs.

Earl holds an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and BA from Dickinson College.  Earl is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators and the Public Relations Society of America.
