Filip Frostermark

Filip Frostemark graduated from Lund University in Sweden in 1989 and got his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from Lund University in 1994. His first industrial assignment was as a Research Scientist in Formulation Development at Astra Draco AB in Lund, Sweden. After two years he moved on to become Manager for a team working with Pharmaceutical Technology and in 1998 he became Associate Director for Physical Pharmaceutics & Non-clinical Formulations, a team working in Discovery and Early Development phase. After spending 5 years with pulmonary drug delivery he got a position as Associate Director Nasal Drug Delivery in the new AstraZeneca R&D organization.

Three years later he was recruited for a position as leader of a global project on Learning & Development in the Global Pharmaceutical & Analytical R&D organization in AstraZeneca. A position he held until early 2005. During that time he received a certificate in training practice and became member of a global strategy and development group reporting to a VP in the UK.

In March 2005, Filip left AstraZeneca for a position as Head of Analytical Development at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare (PCH) R&D in Helsingborg, Sweden. He became member of the local R&D Leadership Team and was also appointed innovation leader. In 2006 he received a green belt in innovation. When Johnson & Johnson acquired PCH in late 2006 the site in Helsingborg became part of the global McNeil OTC R&D organization. 

In 2007 Filip successfully led a Lean Development initiative in the McNeil R&D organization and in 2008 he moved on to a full-time position as head of the newly established Lean & Process Excellence function, a position he is currently holding.

As head of Lean & Process Excellence Filip is leading a cross-functional team and is responsible for the Lean Transformation of the R&D Smoking Cessation organization, including strategy development work and performance measurements, change management, process improvements, training and coaching on a local, regional and global level. In addition to his Lean role Filip is also the R&D sponsor for innovation and a member of the local R&D Leadership Team. He is also an active member of a Swedish-Danish Lean Pharma R&D Network led by Valcon Innovation.
