I am a university professor focused on consumer health informatics and Web 2.0 from a pharmacy perspective. Other pet interests include digital health literacy, participatory medicine, and the impact of technology on the pharmacy workforce. I am always searching for ways to improve in the holy trinity of teaching, research, and service and am currently enamored with cognitive load theory and elements of visual design.

Distractions include following my favorite underperforming teams in football and soccer as well as the annual pilgrimage to the WSOP. Finally, I have worked as a consultant since 2000 during my discretionary time. Highlights of that role include competitive technical intelligence projects for small to mid-sized pharmaceutical companies and a really exciting eHealth project for The-Organization-That-Must-Not-Be-Named.
