After a career of more than 25 years in public affairs, healthcare advocacy and non-profit management, Lisa Tate joined WomenHeart: The National Coalition of Women in 2007 as chief executive officer. As the leading voice for the 41 million American women living with or at risk of heart disease, WomenHeart is the only national, patient-centered heart organization dedicated to promoting women’s health through advocacy, community education and patient support.
Before joining WomenHeart, Lisa served as vice president, public affairs for the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI) for over 14 years and received an award of excellence from the American Society of Association Executives for NACHRI's advocacy campaigns. Earlier in her career, she managed public affairs programs for the American Academy of Pediatrics and chaired the Coalition for America's Children with 400 organizational members nationwide. Lisa currently serves on the board of the Public Affairs Council, the national organization of corporate public affairs executives. She received a degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
