Alejandra Azurmendi joined Schering-Plough +25 years.
In 1990 she started to work in Regulatory Affairs, and was appointed RA manager & Safety Officer in charge of Drug Safety Surveillance (Pharmacovigilance) for Argentina, Uruguay & Paraguay. She contributed to major in-company PV & RA projects as LA representative, such as the development of present reporting system (CARES) and GCH (Global Clinical Harmonization). In 1998, Alejandra also assumed the responsibility as DPOC (designated point of contact) to handle all complaints, medical information and adverse events triage.
In 2009, to the responsibilities regarding Schering-Plough, she undertook regulatory affairs responsibilities for Organon.
She holds a BA degree in Chemistry, two BA degrees as Certified Translator in Portuguese and Spanish, a MBA in Strategic Management, two Postgraduate degrees: one in Translation Skills from City University of London, and the other in University Teaching. Alejandra also took a great number of seminars and courses in regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, clinical trials monitoring, translation and management.
She also develops extensive academic activities as university professor since 1985.
