Scott most recently joined Teva Specialty Pharmaceuticals as an Assoc. Director of New Products, responsible for launching new branded products in the respiratory marketplace. During his 20 plus years in the industry, Scott Ellis has demonstrated superior leadership skills at top companies by continually guiding brand teams to outstanding success. His product launches included some of the most successful in the pharmaceutical industry. Scott drew upon his well-honed strategic and analytical talents to deliver products that not only exceeded company growth and revenue targets, but also were well-received by customers and patients. Just one example: Under his direction at UCB, Xyzal® tablets launched and quickly leapt to the number-one position of branded antihistamines in the allergy market—the year’s best launch in that category. In addition, under his leadership and vision for creating patient centric programs, he and his team received the 2009 New Media Award for best website in the pharmaceutical industry category.
By implementing innovative strategies and expertly managing the continuum of the brand-planning process, Scott was a key player in delivering exceptional products—and exceptional results—throughout his career. From his initial role as an award-winning sales representative at Merck & Co., he attained roles of ever-increasing responsibility and was awarded numerous accolades for strategic, analytic, and leadership skills with the company’s pharmaceutical and vaccines divisions. At AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Scott’s many accomplishments included leading the strategic development and operational planning for two launch brands, driving new growth for a mature brand, and leading a corporate initiative to streamline and enhance corporate packaging for all U.S. AstraZeneca brands—ultimately he was granted a U.S. patent in packaging.
Scott has also held roles outside of the corporate world including: serving as Sr. Advisor to the International Leadership Institute. He contributed to the May 2008 article in Medical Marketing & Media, and was an expert panelist at the MDRX Physician Relationship Management Conference in 2009. Scott holds a B.S. degree in biology from Morehouse College, an M.B.A. from Penn State and is pursuing an M.S. degree in Organizational Dynamics at University of Pennsylvania.
