Since 2007, Sean Clements has been Associate Director of Media Relations for Novo Nordisk Inc., a global healthcare company with more than 87 years of innovation and leadership in diabetes care.
In this capacity, Mr. Clements is responsible for corporate media relations and issues management in the U.S. and also manages the company’s U.S. web site, www.novonordisk-us.com. During his tenure, he has been successful raising the company’s U.S. profile largely through building and leveraging relationships with top-tier financial media and collaborating with critical functions in at Novo Nordisk.
Prior to joining Novo Nordisk in 2007, he served as the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at Cephalon Inc., and was responsible for managing employee communications and media relations.
In his 10 years in communications and media relations in the corporate world, Mr. Clements has been with three public companies, including one (ARAMARK Corporation) that went IPO during his time at the company.
Mr. Clements is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marine Corps Reserves, serving as a public affairs officer. He was deployed to Iraq’s Al Anbar Province from Aug. 2004 to March 2005 and played an integral role in public affairs operations, including management of the media embed program during the Battle of Fallujah and the first free elections in Iraq in 50 years.
