Steve Lampert

Steven Lampert is Executive Director, Brand Corporate Affairs for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.  He is responsible for the management and implementation of the company’s communications programs and activities in support of its line of prescription pharmaceutical products.  (AstraZeneca currently manufactures and markets prescription pharmaceuticals for the treatment of gastrointestinal and cardiovascular diseases, cancer, infectious diseases, asthma, and central nervous system disorders).  Lampert also serves on the Corporate Affairs Leadership Team and has global responsibilities. 
Lampert joined the company in 1987 as a Communications Program Manager.  He has been instrumental in expanding the company’s commitment to National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and prostate cancer public education activities.  Lampert has testified before the National Cancer Institute in support of breast cancer screening in the workplace.  AstraZeneca was one of the first companies to institute an onsite breast cancer-screening program for its employees.
Lampert directs a department of 25 professionals that is responsible for product publicity, corporate image building, media and association relations and issues management.  Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Lampert held a variety of public relations/communications management positions with public relations agencies and corporations.  He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, Healthcare Marketing and Communications Council, and the Penn State University School of Communications Alumni Association.  He is a member of the Penn State Brandywine Constituent Society and of the National Pharmaceuticals Council Communications Work Group.  He has served as a volunteer communications counsel for a number of non-profit organizations and associations.
