Wim Oostra graduated as chemical engineer from Delft University of Technology in 1992. After fulfilling is military service he returned to Delft to study thermophoresis under microgravity conditions and to obtain his PhD under the supervision of Prof. B. Scarlett.

In 1998 he started working for Organon in formulation development. During his career within Organon, later Schering-Plough and Merck his attention shifted to process development and up scaling. He was actively involved in Organon’s pilot QbD project, implemented risk and science based development and was part of the Organon-SP QbD integration team, aligning amongst others Risk management practices between the two companies.

Wim is a steering committee member of ISPE’s Process and Product Development Community of Practice and member of the PQLI CQA and CPP task team. Wim is also member of the EUFEPS QbD and PAT Network steering committee.
